Yup, your timestamps will get goofed I'm afraid. As soon as you touch
the backup database with any connect/server startup, then you'll have
your work cut out applying the ai from production land.
We've used Fathom/Replication quite a lot for a number of our customers,
and it works well. Also, you can access the replicated dbs read-only for
reporting which is nice.
Cost wise, Fathom itself is pretty reasonable. The main beef tends to be
with the fact you need to have the Progress licences on the backup
server as well as the production server. However, you will have to have
that anyway for this AI-based solution anyway ;)
