QAD crash upgrade ?!?

Good morning: (environment = QAD 8.5f, progress 8.3b, hpux 11...)
I have recently been told by QAD Tech. Support that, because we are in need
of a particular "patch" and because this patch really touches a lot of
things, that it is recommended that we simply upgrade from our current
version of MFG/PRO v 8.5F to v 8.5H.
The "cowboy" in me thinks this shouldn't be that big of a deal, and in fact
I could probably accomplish this over the course of a weekend, assuming
that I clearly identify all of my customization which primarily centers
around:
1) mostly report mod's
2) some browses
3) very few triggers
4) even fewer mod's which "write" to the database
Additionally, because I won't be changing the current Progress platform (
8.3b for HPUX 11), I won't need to worry about doing a dump+load, or
anything with the data dictionary, schema, flux capacitor, etc. ??
I guess I'm looking for some moral support from those of you who live and
breathe "upgrades", and I would appreciate additional insight regarding a
minor upgrade such as this. And of course, I'll be doing this first on
just my pilot database !!!
Thanks in advance for any comments.
