Paul,
It might help if you give us the version & hardware on which you are
running.
It works great for us. We are using sendmail on Linux.
Email command in 36.4.20 -
mail -s "subject" "recipient" < "message file"

Subject: Using QAD e-mail notices in PO/Requisition modules
We're having a terrible time trying to get requisitions with e-mail
notification working. We tried for several months with the QAD-Recommended
WMAILTO routine but it would often not send the message and never generate
an error when it failed.
I decided to write my own mail application but QAD is not forthcoming
in how their e-mail functionality works....all they would say is that they
do not support WMAILTO or self written programs. They would not even explain
how their code works.
I finally got my application working every time from the "E-Mail
definition Maintenance Screen," which generates an "EML" file in the QAD
Startup folder.
But when we test from the requisition screen, it appears that instead
of an EML file, a file with the extension of REQ is generated then erased so
quickly my application cannot grab it to send it. I have a feeling this is
the same problem wmailto has....the QAD process does not stop long enough
for the mailing program to grab the message before it's erased....it just
gets the e-mail addresses and the name of the text file.
Does anyone have a good experience with this feature? How did you
resolve the problem? I understand this company tried this 3-4 years ago but
gave up. This is now a high-priority by management.
