Are you single or N-tier?

Sounds like your telnet connection scripts are not correct.
Check the following:
DBServer:<QAD install folder>/<UI Name>/telnet.<DB Set Name>
DBServer:<QAD install folder>/<UI Name>/connmgr.<DB Set Name>
You should be able to execute each of these and get a terminal
session going with a blank line at the top of the screen. If yuu
do, you scripts are OK.
Can you get to the Connection Manager page?
Client's URL is: http://<web/app server>.xxxxxxxx.com:/<UI Name>/loginpage.jsp
If not you have issues there.

Also check that the telnet login sequence in 36.20.10.3 is correct.

If you can get to connection manager, check Update Configuration settings,
In particular the startup script. It must match starting a telnet session and
executing the telnet script I mentioned above.

All of this can be found in the QAD User Interfaces Installation Guide.
It's not the easiest read, but does have the information.
Also check that connectionManagerConfig.xml has the correct
<webapp server>.<domain>.
There is a bug in that the name of either the <DB server>.<domain>
or the <web/app server>.<domain> has a max of 20 characters. Any
thing beyond that get's truncated. Check w/QAD support on that, I can't
remember the exact bug but they helped me with that a few weeks back.

Also, be sure that the user ID and password you are using for the telnet
& connection manager scripts actually exists at the OS level.
