Hi Herman! :0)

Thanks for that.

In the back of my mind I think someone at Progress told me that a couple of
years ago.

At least I know I am calling the correct procedures.

Cheers,

Shao

I suppose that the logic of the original developer was that if you set
the property it is in the direction of the java world (SonicMQ = 100%
java) where you use a 'String' data type.
When you get a property it is in the direction of the 4GL where the same
data type is a CHARACTER.
So you are setting it in a STRING, and get it into a CHARACTER.

Just my lucky guess.

Subject: setStringPropery / getCharProperty

Hi all,

Just looking through the Sonic Docs.

Can someone clarify that when setting a string property one uses
setStringProperty, but when retrieving a string property one must use
getCharProperty?

Cheers,

Shao
